Hi everyone :frow

I was just snooping around, came across this thread and thought if no one minds, I would drag up a perch and roost for a bit. I haven't read back thru too much yet but plan to. Just thought I would introduce myself first.

My hubby, pup, rescued kitty and coop full of ladies (and one young, very fraidy cat Aussie roo) all live waaay out in the northwoods. I have been LIVING with chronic myeloid leukemia for nearly seven years now. I've had my share of "speed bumps" and setbacks, but by the grace of God and modern chemistry I'm still here ;)

I just want to extend my hand out to anyone who is just beginning their journey or are stumbling a bit and need a bit of support or just need someone to vent to.

I've also become a bit of a well educated student on my particular form of cancer and the drugs an d the fun things they can do (insert sarcasm here) if anyone wants to chat.

Many great folks further down this path extended their hands back to me as I was just beginning my journey and it meant the world (and my sanity) to me so I always try to "pass it on" whenever the opportunity arrises.

So, if anyone needs a friend to walk down the path with them for a step or two or just pull up a roost and cluck for a bit........

ETA. Oops. Just read back a bit and this thread is more for supporting the caregivers. I will return to lurking but if anyone wants to ask questions and get answers from the prospective from the " other side" of the coin, I would be more than happy to help if I can. Oh, and I have done home hospice care as well (twice).
