So....talk about.....CANCER SUPPORT THREAD !!

I'm glad I could help a bit. I've done a few rounds with this, before getting to this point where I decided to just stay positive about everything. I lost a dear aunt to cancer about 2 years ago. Hers started with breast cancer, came back and spread and ended up taking her. During all that she was so amazingly POSITIVE and cheerful and she made the most of the time left to her. Got herself a boyfriend with a bike and she was off with him, having fun until she couldn't any more… I'm smile now, thinking about that. My mom was horrified by her behaviour! lol But I loved how she was so positive and cheerful in spite of everything and that inspires me.

I am also trying to do like your mom did and just continue living life and not let this disrupt things too much. It's not easy some days, when I first got diagnosed I was angry and upset, I remember saying to someone it felt like my body let me down, doing that. But they got it out and I got given a second chance and I switched to thinking "This could've killed me, 100 years ago this WOULD'VE killed me. But with today's modern medicines, science, surgeries etc, we can and will deal with this, so thank you for that."

Yup..... Great post. Totally agree....

My son told me today that he had another place taken off his chest a few months ago.....he never even told us...and it was benign, thank God! And he has not heard any results back yet from this one. So he is hopeful.

He thought you shouldn't worry Mom! My son is 24. He would probably do the same. He came over about a week ago & had a hoodie on. It was 80F out! I asked him if he was sick?!? He said, "No Mom, I ran out of sunscreen & had to grind stumps today, just protecting my skin like you tell me." I am so proud of him :love. Then I gave him a bottle of sunscreen!

Have a great weekend all! :D

They do listen, they just don't want you to be too proud about it.

My husband just had a whole bunch of basal cell carcinoma and one Squamous cell taken off his face. He was there all day. He's wimping it up as much as possible, but we are starting to pay more attention to what we eat. I brought home an artichoke today..I've never had one, but they're supposed to be highly effective as a skin cancer fighting food. Just have to figure out how to cook it.....

3 Weeks down, 3 to go. I'm not thinking about it much at the moment… I'm too stressed about too many other things at the moment. I'll get to this one when it comes. I'm just praying right now that the results will be good. It's been a rough year and I'm tired. Praying for positive negatives for you all as well, that is waiting…
