Thank you for the encouragement everyone! Wow, what freedom without hair! I took a shower this morning before work and the feeling of the water on my head was really amazing. I just wanted to stand there and let the water run and run!
Orp - I agree, don't wait for chemo or stress to get your hair, just shave it off!
Yeah well, easy for me to say. I bet if a bunch of us girls just shaved it all off, then it wouldn't be so strange.
I had those last few stubbles on the top of my head and tried to buzz it off, but my head was too tender. This morning when I took my sleep cap off a lot of stubble was already off my head and in the cap. So I'll just wait for the rest of the fuzz to come off on it's own. I'm at work now with my short wig on. Thank goodness I bought the gel strip for the wig, it's a strip of plastic with a soft gel inside and velcro so you can adjust the size, once you place that on your head, you put the wig on over it and it keeps the wig in place but it also keeps it from actually touching your scalp so there is less friction on your skin, and makes it very comfortable. I wore my wig yesterday (for company) for a total of 7 hours without discomfort. I did take it off after my sister and her hubby left. I asked my sister if she wanted to see my bald head, she wasn't ready for that yet.
She said I'll see you in the scarf first, then bald. OK.
