So....talk about.....CANCER SUPPORT THREAD !!

Quote:
Hilary, I use to work for an Urologist and I learned that any man who lives long enough will encounter this and all the men, all generations in my life know they have to have the tests routinely! It's a curable cancer and it sounds like your Dad has been on it. Your parents have decisions to make, but it sounds like your dad will be OK because he took care of himself (most likely with your moms encouragement)! Thank him and your mom for taking care. My prayers are with you and your family.

I would not worry too much. My dad got diagnosed and started treatment around the same time. He is 77 now and is doing fine. Not even a hint of anything. They have him on a little pill to prevent recurrence.

Just got a chance to pop in...........Coyote - good luck with your treatment tomorrow. How often do you go now??

I had my drum circle people over in my backyard this past Sunday.........beautiful day, breezy and about 83* dry and airy...........perfect! We sat in the shade and jammed away...it was a lot of fun and the drumming echoed into the woods behind us and all around us without being "noisy" I wish you all could have been there. Next Sunday we're off to Thompson Park in Monmouth County to drum into the woods. Trying to get DH to go with me..............we'll see.

Hope everyone is well

Just wanted to pop back in. It has been a while. I am all finished with my chemo. (A month or so ago) and just had my 1 yr follow up ct scan and it was completely clean (well I have a kidney stone lol). Just thought I would share some good news!

Breezy? Dry? 83*?!! You know it's hot when you take a shower and you don't turn on the hot water because the well water is THAT warm!!! Dogs have been playing in the house because it's been so unbareable. I've got dogs bouncing on the bed instead of kids!!

I would have loved to be at your drum circle. I'm going to try to make it back for my neices pinning ceremony in August, maybe we can get together then.......Saw picture in the local back home newspaper of my old playground. Parvin State Park. It was free and with 5 kids it was one of the best places to go when myparents were off work. Less than 10 miles from home as well. The other side of the lake is where we had church picnics. They used to get us kids to help officate the different game events because the 5 of us would always win the different events. Sack races, egg toss, pie eating, all the old timey fun stuff.

I hope your DH goes with you. The drums just vibrate through your whole being. I used to play a CD for my friend Tom when he was having difficult days with his ALS. The drums relaxed him and he was able to rest.

I still have to go every 3 weeks for treatments. I'm told that there are new treatments coming out everyday and that someday soon I won't have to keep doing this. Oh well, it's a good time for a nap, lol.
