So....talk about.....CANCER SUPPORT THREAD !!

Hey deerman! Glad to see you post.... I hope to hear good news from your Dec visit to the Doc. A good attitude is your best friend, and you've got it, you know we are here for you and anyone else that needs support.

I just came back from my 3 mo. visit to the oncologist....so far, so good. Next week - the surgeon....then I visit the radiologist for my yearly check up. I should be able to knock him down, and only have to deal with the gyno surgeon and the oncologist for the..........whatever it takes amount of time.

Welcome back............we come and go here, so you have to check up on us regularly- got it Missy????

Howdy just heard about this thread. So thought I would check it out. My life has been touched several times and most recently when a lady BYCer announced friday on our thread that she has been diagnosed. In a small attempt to show our support (actually for all) several of us have changed our avatar.

And that lady would be me! An ornery Irish woman who loves a good fight! My hat is off to all those who have fought, are fighting or will unfortunately have to fight!

sorry everyone, I have been non computer-ado.
I had to wiped the hard drive and it won't take the disk back to reboot it.
I can live without it.

I am getting more house cleaning done , so it may be a good thing.
I am sorry if there were some negative bummer comments while I was gone.
It is difficult to be a cheerleader when the pom-poms are off line.

Hugs to all of you, keep the faith, fight the hard fight.
Great news about Ashley. It is good that they found it early and got it all.

** <- pathetic pompoms. ...but enthusiastically typed.

augrgg. the worst part of using someone else's computer is that they do not have spell check.

Good to see you here CM. How are all the doggies doing?

The fuzzies are doing good. Katie and Icee are best of buds. Here's Icee laughing at Katie because she stole her toy. It was so hot this summer that they spent a good deal of time in the house. Still run and jump on the bed every chance they get!!

We have had a bit of sadness in the house lately. We had to say goodbye to my 18 year old kitty, Butterscotch. She had been doing good, came back from a bad infection 100% only to suddenly have weight start falling off of her in one week. She had spinal stenosis, basicly no more cushioning between her vertibres and the meds weren't helping with the pain anymore. She and I shared the cheese off a pizza as the medicine knocked her out so we could take her to the vet. She runs with Bashful and Spook at Rainbow Bridge now.

I'm looking for some quilting buddies to join me and a few others in making blocks for a Relay for Life Quilt. This block is sooooooooooooo much easier than the one we all did last year. Kate and the kids at school are joining in too! This is the one we are using http://fatcatpatterns.com/PDFs/ThinkPink2007.pdf

All
in all I'm doing pretty good. Last Echo-Cardio came back good. So far no signs of heart damage.

Got my chicken tractor finished. Mini version of Nadine's Mash Unit made with a 6x6 dog kennel that we move every other day. I still let them out to wander where they please most times.

Hope all are doing well!!

as sad as the thread subject matter is - diagnosing/living with cancer - I'm really taken aback by how lovely and supportive this online community is.

*wonders why offline can't be as supportive*
