So....talk about.....CANCER SUPPORT THREAD !!

Update on Lissy.

For those of you who do not know, this little 4 year old girl had a brain tumor on her brain stem. They surgically removed as much as was possible but were unable to get it all because of the location. They are treating her with chemo and radiation now. She seems to be tollerating it fairly well and I am happy to report that it is working, though slowly.

My friends Deb and Roger lost their son, Chad, (He was only in his early 20's)back earlier this year to a terrible accident where he had a heat stroke and was then caught up in a forest fire. This is their granddaughter, Chad's sister's daughter. The family needs your prayers.

I have a current picture but am having problems loading it. I will see if I can get the glitch fixed. It is of Lissy holding her new baby sister with her little brother standing next to them.

Young people can be very strong & have a better grasp on things and usually don't have a fear with death..........it's the parents and other adults that fear for them. It's like they seem to know more, in their young age, I can't explain it, just that everything I've read on death and dying, young ones seem to not show fear as much as people in their prime........interesting....

I hope this little girl pulls through! She sounds strong to me.

This is the pic I promised to try and load. I had problems with it but figured it out.

As you can see, Lissy is a beautiful little girl, full of wonder and life. I'm so thankful she is responding well to her treatments so far

On another note, my friend Michelle has found a large bruise and tender area on one of her breasts. It appeared suddenly and without any injury. She has gone and had a mamogram with the result being that they are now asking for more tests to be run. Please pray that she has good news.

Another friend, Christi, is going to have to have surgery to remove a baseball sized tumor from her uterine wall. She has a brain tumor as well but it has not progressed in a while so they are just watching it for the most part right now. She is a very very strong lady but I know our prayers can help so please pray for her as well

I had the results from my 2nd biopsy come back. I have ADH(atypical ductal hyperplasia) on the left in addition to the DCIS(ductal carcinoma in situ) on the right.
ADH is pre-pre-cancer and DCIS is pre-cancer. So off to the onco DR. I go. My DCIS is ER/PR + so as long as I have tissue in there, my hormones make the cancer grow. Double mastectomy is not sounding too bad about now!

Wow, I don't know much about breast cancer.......but it sounds like you got it in control! I guess this is the way to go??? I wish you the very best, broody! It sounds like you're a real trooper.

hey, if you don't mind, let us know what's going on, a lot of folks on here may be going through the same thing and would probably get a lot of insight on your experiences. Totally up to you, of course.

Best of luck to you

Definitely! I have learned tons about this from talking to other people and reading! I don't have an appt. at the cancer center till the first week of Dec. so I'm in a holding pattern for now.
