Personally I get annoyed. Isn't that weird??

Are they recommending radiation first, then chemo?? Saying they aren't hip on mastectomy........might mean a good thing? BTW - it all sounds scary until you look into it and realize how many people have to do this

That made me feel better - knowing I wasn't alone....

Thinking of you broodytood!!

Tamoxifen is actually a hormone suppressor. My cancer is fueled by my estrogen and progesterone.
It causes all kinds of serious sides effects like stroke, clots, thrombosis, uterine and endometrial cancer, cataracts just to mention a few. It makes your body think it's in immediate menopause. Yippie! They like you to take it for 5 yrs. It ups your survival % by 3%.
Would love to talk to people who actually have had to use it to get their take on what it does to you.
Yes, there are tons of cancer fighters and survivors out there! And all you great BYC peeps!

Sorry Broody , I never took Tamoxifen.....

Side effects ..are always scary...its that not knowing which one you will have to deal with...mine will be 4 of ones that happy to over 30 % of patients. or 14 ones that happy to 10 to 30 % heck one difficulty sleeping......right i don't sleep now....poor appetite....never smoked pot....but may start it.... if Ohio likes it or not....

You have the best attitude Burt.

Sorry to hear about that stubborn tumor - did they tell you what they think the spots on the liver is??? Might not be C at all.

How long is your infusion on Monday going to be? If it's not all day (like mine was) maybe not too bad for you. I got a lot of reading done

Yay on the lungs! I'm gonna look up Erbitux.....................Well, it sounds like any other cancer drug including the side effects. I hope this one takes care of business. BTW Burt, the pot thing worked for me - you might as well enjoy things while you're fighting the enemy.

Deerman, I was really hoping no news was good news, but I kinda felt you did not want to disappoint us.
We are not disappointed in YOU! You are a fighter and brave and have a great attitude.

Spots on livers seem to come and go on people. I had a spot on my lung once and then did not a year later. I think someone sneezed on the x ray film and did not fess up. It did not help the worry gene though.

I will still send you positive thoughts and send death ray thoughts to those cancer cells.

You too Broody. I have your cancer on my naughty list.
You all fight the good fight and know that we are thinking about you and wishing you the best of the best.

Me too!!

well dear friends........yes got my result ......not the best ,but some good points....the area of the one tumor had grown some, two spot on the liver,

so my Doc is putting me on weekly infusion of Erbitux ,will still be taking the chemo pill also, the two are to work together.

now few good points other than the two area of cancer on the liver, and the tumor was a little larger. LUNGS and other areas i was worry about are ok. The new treatments should be easy , no hair lose, if i understand right its one of the new target drugs. I start the infusion Monday. Sound like I will be on it sometime.

I have had this port in for a year now.......guess its time to use it.

Oh one thing i learn, they gave me a dvd of my pet scan to take to the doctor...you should not look at these with out knowing what you are seeing....to tell the truth i couldn't keep from watching it..... it made be worry for three days....few area alway show of red,

Not real crazy about weekly infusion.....but it will keep me with my love ones that much longer........so here i go putting on my big pants
lol.png

cancer your not getting me that easy......

Hey Bro, you know what they say, "It could always be worse" guess that is whatcha got! But you've got the right attitude. If cancer is going to get us it's going to drag us out kicking and screaming all the way. These new target drugs are really good. They don't do nearly the damage on the body as the older drugs do. The one that I'm on, Herceptin targets a specific gene, the other they had me on last year Abraxane was another one that targeted the cancer directly.

Your loved one are gonna have you around for a good long time!

EEEEEEGADS!! the multiple Dr thing drives me crazy!!

I never took Tamoxifen, mine isn't hormone driven. I was first on Taxotere, Carboplatin, and Herceptin for 4 treatments and then Herceptin for a year after surgery. I went with a double masectomy. My tumor was way up close armpit and chest muscles, the other was showing early calicifications=possible formation of tumor. So Thelma and Louise left and Tizzy and Lizzy came to be!

There was no sign of cancer outside of my breasts, nothing in the nodes. Was done treatment October 2009, thought it was gone. October 2010 it was back in the nodes. This time Abraxane and Herceptin. Removal of the nodes wasn't possible because of where they were located. The Abraxane knocked it out, Herceptin now every 3 weeks indefinately.

Have they given you any information on Stage or Grade of your cancer? I didn't do radiation. Could have and gone with a lumpectomy but with my cancer the likelyhood of it coming back were greater.

Read read read everything you can about your type of cancer and it's treatments. Don't be afraid to question your doctors choices, you are in control, not them.

Hang in there we are here for you.

If you guys can, keep Acres of Blessings daughter, Heaven, in your prayers. She's having a hard time with her treatments right now. Reoccuring fevers and the dreaded tummy issues. They were hoping to go home yesterday, but they can't get the fevers under control.
