Just thought I would offer a brighter view also. Our Gram had breast cancer. Ended up having both breasts removed and treatment. She kept it totally secret from everyone. He husband was dead and her sons and their families were busy so she went through it mostly alone. Her sisters helped her thankfully. She just died this last July 4th at 93 of heart failure. She survived more than 25 years after diagnosis. The breast cancer did come back right before she died, more than likely because her system was just so dang weak. It never even had a chance to cause her a moment of pain. It never held her back and even as sick as she was, she was ready to fight the cancer off again. She had beaten it once and was not afraid to beat it again. I hope you guys can have the same fortune she had. Chins up and attitudes at the ready!
As a fellow survivor myself, I wish you the best. I never had radiation, but I had 2 1/2 years of chemo. Proud to say that as of April 5th I have been in remission for 11 years.
I think as long as someone is still breathing, we all hold that tiny bit of hope that they will pull through.Sad to hear about Burt. Even though you know it's coming, it's still hard. RIP, Deerman.
