So....talk about.....CANCER SUPPORT THREAD !!

I am sorry to interrupt this thread as I know so many are going through such difficult times and need every ounce of support from the readers of this forum. Does anyone have any experience of pancreatic cancer, and the chemo that is used in the treatment? A very good friend is under investigation for this condition and I know it's rather rare. Thank you for your patience of my interruption.
You are definitely NOT interrupting. As a friend, you are afflicted too. Welcome.

Yes he did. That was "wireman" he stole. He drove from Stuart, FL to New Orleans with it wrapped up in the car. Got there and found the spot and put it back, then drove back home. Don't know if it made any difference in his life or not, I don't talk to him much (looooooong story) As far as I know he's doing well.

WHY? Did you do something naughty??

Noooooooo I've been behaving the best I can! I don't know why it came to mind, lol.

Cindi... let me look.. i think that i have a square here that i can send..

Would love to have it Red!

Cindi - I have a block or two to send you. You need the block and a backing for the message right? Let me know the details. And what colours you like and such.

Whatever colors or details of the block is up to you. The quilt isn't just pink, it's got all kinds of colors, fabric, do-dad's. It just needs to be 6x6, 6x12 or 12x12 so I don't have to figure the math, lol

Hey Newf, you are more than welcome here. All I know is pancreatic cancer is a bad one. It's not usually detected until it's pretty advanced. Yes, there will be chemo and it's going to be pretty potent. Your friend is going to need you now more than ever. Just be there, ask them what they need you to do to help. A shoulder is what they need right now

Quote: I want you to have something from me too!. You are an important friend, but I do not know anything about quilt blocks. If you or Red can send me to a site to learn I will make you one!!
It will be hand done. My machine is psycho. It hates me. Even when I say nice things to it.
Is embroidery and buttons and things okay?

Shoot me your address and I will send you a blank block. If you have crayons you can decorate a block with those. Just color them really heavily. Crayolas work best because they have more dye than other crayons.

I was wondering if I could embroider or applique a block. The type of material would be my stumbling 'block'. har har,
I think I have iron on crayons some where, but I think I would have more fun using up my bits and snips of stuff.
It is serious allergy season for me. I can barely open the door for the dogs without a tsunami of misery washing over me. It is my time to sit and do nothing, so a patch will be great. Is muslin okay? I have some of that. If I use six by six, how much towards the edge can I go?

Muslin is perfect! 1/4 inch all the way around.

Here are some easy blocks. I love "Liberated Quilting" You do your own thing. If it comes out on the wonky side, that's the way it's suppose to be. If you look closely at my quilts, there isn't a straight seam on anything. I love applique. I do a lot of it, because I can't keep seams straight, lol. FatCat has great patterns http://fatcatpatterns.com/ I have most of the ones that are now for sale, if you want any of them.
