So....talk about.....CANCER SUPPORT THREAD !!

You don't know how happy I am to hear this type of positive news. You go, woman!!!! I love that you e-mailed the White House. :)

Thank you 3Good/Jan I got your patch!!! I LOVE IT!!! If you don't mind, I'm going to use the extra fabric for my new quilt this year for pet food bank I volunteer with .http://www.grettaswishpetfoodbank.com/ We use the quilts to earn a little bit of $$ at various events around here.

So far the White House thing hasn't panned out. I was sent to one office that sent me to another office that said we don't qualify. Same story different day!

We HAVE hit over 5,000 signatures on the petition that Kate/Writer of Words started at Change.org

Dr.Drew...........well............it was great to get our story out, but I would have much rather let those boys have our time to tell more of their story. Kate did get through on the phone though!!. Lurchie looked angry on the tape, lol.

Can't remember if I told ya'll or not, but we are being GIVEN the new chemo by the manufacturer!! This drug hasn't even come out of the trials yet so we are setting up an individual trial just for me. Have to wait to get the FDA to sign off on it.

Lurchie is meeting with the lawyers today with a stack of paper work for them to look at.

I'm doing good! Folks who see me over on Facebook will tell you that too! They about brought me to my knees there for a minute but I'm back in this for the long haul!!

Glad it arrived! Please use the other fabric on anything you want. I think 'furry friends' when I think of you, so I felt it fit and knew you would have other uses for it!
I am sorry about the W.House giving you the phone tag endurance test, but the free chemo is great news. That is one prayer down...

Sorry about the diagnoses. While the facts may be scary, the truth is God can heal you. How he does that is up to him. Whether surgery, or nutrition, or just plain old prayer.

My wife had a diagnoses of the big C also. We were told some radical procedures needed to be done, (removing the bladder, lymph nodes, and hysterectomy) Her diagnoses was a rare form of bladder cancer. My wife was ready to have it all just taken out and be done with it. I and her friends encouraged her to get some second opinions, as far as surgery was involved, as chem and radiation were not options for her kind of cancer. We finally went to Cleveland Clinic, and got a second opinion, where they recommended only removing the top part of the bladder, and sewing it back together (so she doesn't have to have a bag), and keeping the female parts. While they did remove some of the surrounding lymph nodes, She managed to keep most of what God gave her and leads a normal life (except for the visits back to the Doctor, every few months to make sure nothing comes back). With all that being said, if your budget allows, take the time to find a the best specialist you can, and don't be afraid to get another opinion..........You never know.

Also, the whole experience for us was very expensive, even with good insurance, (she had lost wages from time off from work), so I would encourage you now to aggressively cut and save whatever money you can if at all possible.

I pray you will be healed, and be surrounded by support.

Some things we have adopted into our lifestyle as a precaution was Dr Joel Furhman's nutrition plan, he got a book online you can find relatively cheap. And the diet has helped us both get better in other health areas of our life, so it might help here also.

God bless.

Thank you so much for your support. I too believe in the power of prayer. Even though we (meaning all of us) may be of different beliefs, any form of prayer done out of Love is a blessing. I've been fighting for 4 years and it is because of the prayers from friends, family, and those of complete strangers that I'm still here. Folks on this thread will tell you I can be a royal B*tch when it comes to this disease, but they also know that I firmly believe in order to live you must fight and believe that you will.

Hey, Sara!
I do not know how to sew either. I just ... well, I am not sure what I did.
Once I moved to the 1950's garage sale model it all went so much easier. I actually enjoyed it.
maybe I am just technology challenged. I really can't see me in a sports care either. I'd never figure out how to get the radio turned on.
How have you been doing? I am doing very well, except for these awful allergies.
