Talk to the manufacturer, or local shop (Best Buy, Frys) as they can (sometimes) be useful.
You may have to take it in to be serviced if something was actually damaged...
It is possible that the power surge damaged your computer, depends on the system and such I think, but it is possible.
The power was out here, transformer blew and they took their sweet time repairing it, my computer was on when it happened, hubby's was shut down. Well, it's hard to cook when you have no light so we went out. When we came back the power was on and my hubby's puter smelled of burning plastic. B figured that when the power came back on it surged enough to get past the surge protector on his puter (though mine was fine) and totally burned up his power supply! Lucky for us it was his desktop, and he had a spare power supply he could install himself. But still, should NOT have happened!! I expected maybe a problem with mine, as it was ON when the power went out. We didn't worry at all about B's since it was off and 'safe' with the protector. Now any time there's a bad storm or the power goes out we totally unplug the puters... lesson learned.
Not much help, but figure I'd share... may save someone some trouble later.
