So tell me..... how do all my fellow "Peapeople" relax?

My birds and plants take up a lot of my time. I always have a project. I raise a Summer and Winter garden here in South Florida along with a lot of exotic tropical plants and cacti. I have 3 chihuahuas, 4 cats, and undetermined number of chickens, call ducks, golden pheasants, and peas. I enjoy just sitting in the yard and admiring my babies, and I always have at least one on my lap when I do. I love reading too, but it's hard to find the time!

Well I teach school so my summers are my down time. I love to read. Just finished reading The Strain it was a intense read a little out there but not bad. I love to hang by my pool as well. I also cruise the dirt roads on our razor. Getting ready for school so I have been really busy. Loved reading about everyone's relaxation ideas. Pool looks great and of course all the peas chasing their mama is the best.

I told DW the title of this thread and she said the same thing I was thinking: 'Relax? What's that?"

Between caring for all the birds, honeybees, and building our homestead, pens, and garden, we don't get much time for relaxing. DW did get in the pool the other day...

It seems like our 'to do' list never gets caught up. We keep talking about taking a real vacation and maybe having a real wedding ceremony but finding the time has been a real problem.

Did you read just The Strain or the entire Trilogy? I read all 3 last winter, scary books are another guilty pleasure of mine, and our last winter was so bad I was able to indulge that one bigtime.

Believe me I don't get to relax nearly as much as I would like! We do the veggie garden as well as 7 different flower beds that are all mine. Cleaning out pens is a constant and we have a lot of lawn as well as pasture land that needs to be mowed. Going to be doing some of that mowing this afternoon. We currently have about 50 Peas(counting the babies) as well as some chickens, guineas, turkey, dogs and cats....no honey bees, but a big old gray paper hornets nest in a tree in the front yard.

Just the first one, I will be reading the others hopefully pretty soon. I have to know what happens.

That is how I am, I won't even start a series until I have all of them, that way I don't have to wait in suspense.

I know what you mean the not knowing is rough. I need to read the others quick. That is why I wait to read a series until it has been out awhile.
