This little baby followed me home from TSC today.

She was sick and I didn't want the lady to put her down or something, so I snagged her. Now, I have this chick, while running errands 30 mins from my house. Lol.

She is listless and doesn't seem to be able to put weight on her legs. She has hydrohen and survey probiotics in her water until I can get her some food. I will be keeping her warm in my shirt until I get home. Lol

Any ideas for added theories... Along with how far to keep her from my other brooding chicks and ducks once I get her there, if she makes it?

My bleeding hippie heart never thinks things through.

Chances are slim but I would start by taking a small paint brush or dropper and dribble a little nutri drench or save a chick electrolytes in the side of her beak and definitely some warmth and yes I would keep her away from the other babies for the time being...good luck hun, hope she or he makes it:confused:
She is drinking when I put her back in water, but can't seem to keep her head up to do it herself. Guess I have a bra buddy for a few days if she makes it that long.

Chirping boobs are exactly what a hippy heart needs :)) Dip your index finger in water so you catch a drop under your nail and put it under the tip of her beak however many times it takes til she drinks some until you get home. She's probably very hungry, so try to get her to eat. You might have to add a little water to it, just not so much it makes a mash and gets all over her beak/nostrils.
Since she's your only chick, she can live in the house with you until you either save her or she's gone to chickie heaven :( . You'll have to be sure she's healthy before adding her to your flock, which is a whole new subject...you don't want her picked on.

She isn't my only chick. My others are over 2 weeks old, though. Dont want them all getting sick, though, obviously. Bought a bin at Target to keep her in.

Do chicken diseases pass to ducks? My ducks are perfect baby carers.we always throw the picked on chicks in with them.

However, I love my duckies and don't want them getting sick

Bless your heart. How far to keep her - as far as you can get. Research proper QT measures. If she has something like Mareks, it could wipe out your whole flock from a stray bit of feather dust. The new one should be kept away from your other birds for at least 30 days until you're sure she isn't contagious. I understand the need to help a sick or injured animal, but for the sake of my birds at home, I would have left her at TSC.
