Update: First, thanks to all for your kind words and support. I did not have to spend the night away so I left the girls cooped till I got back home then let them out. What a sight...me standing guard with my hawk deterrant. I stayed with them till they went up. I am going to have to coop them though for a few days while I am out of town. My son cannot watch them and I cant have him feeling responsible if something happens to them because he is already upset about the roo as he feels responsible because I was out of town when he was attacked. So when I get back I am going to put up the Cds and stuff and begin to work on covering them. I am still hurt and angry enough to resolve the situation with my hand held deterrant. Maybelle is okay. She has patches of missing feathers but I dont see any cuts or punctures. She is very skiddish and stays around my feet. Thanks all.
Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do.
I have never felt so threaten by all the wildlife till one of my hens was attacked and another killed. It def opens your eyes now everything I see I am worried they are going to turn my coop into and KFC eeekkk
