Love your Silkies! They are so lucky you came along and rescued them. How are they doing now that they've been cleaned up and de-strung?

Thank you all so very much:)
Update... after giving them a bath which they did not seem to mind i think they actually enjoyed it lol great for me cause that was my 1st time giving a chicken a bath!

As far as getting them 2 stay on their backs I gently held them all the while talking (hmmm talking-something I'm good at lol) to them. The hen is so very docile and lets me do just about anything the rooster is way more scittish so takes a little extra time for him to settle down. After a short period I no longer had to hold them I was quite impressed lol They just seemed to both absolutely LOVE the warm air gently blowing on them.Lucky for me!I also took a q-tip and applied vaseline to the combs waddles(sp)and lobes as far as the legs and feet i just grabbed a gob for each one and gave then a wonderful massage:D
I kept them in the house to give them extra special care. I gave them veg scraps ,snacks grass, clover a little white grain bread along with corn and grit etc. Poor things were starved! they seem to be filling out now:D I moved them to the screen porch a couple of days ago and today I moved them out to the pen/coop area.with the others. They seem to be fine now except I had to remove little man as he did not like the idea of another guy in his territory and I figured the new guy had ben thru enough. Well thank you all for your help, suggestions, warm welcomes and comments:)
O btw yes i want more!!!!

Glad to hear they are doing well! Ideally though you should keep them quarantined for 30 days just to be sure they have no major issues that could be passed to the others, especially if they have leg mites, etc. You never know what could show up; animals are experts at hiding their problems.

Terry,
You have such a good heart.I'm learning(from this site)that alot of people are kind and are animal lovers. One family from BYC ,that I met last week("CHICKMANIA " and her son & daughter)had just left my house and came upon a kitten that had been hit by a car.It was a Sunday and they ran all over town trying to find help from a vet. They ended up at an emergency vet hospital. They are wonderful people in my eyes,What big hearts these folks have too... Aww Terry! Your new babies are beautiful! You did a great job cleaning them up, the poor things! They sure did land in good hands with you. And it's great you took the advice and got rid of the cedar

Indeed! I am so glad I refreshed the page and seen the quick response to my post! My hubby (he only feeds and waters the chickens when I am out of State or on vacation)did great that day helping me by dumping out the chips and cleaning out the crate so quickly. I was in such a panic that all I could do was to hold them and get them as far away as I could from there. Thinking back I can just imagine the sight of us just so glad i turned out okay shew lol

What a blessing it was for me and the chicks to find BYC and all of you wonderful, kind, helpful caring ppl !!!
