So... What other fowl do well with ducks?

I was attempting to save up for sebbies, but over a hundred dollars isn't going to miraculously appear in my wallet overnight...

I would say geese for sure! They are so lovable! My chickens and guineas don't like the ducks too well. The chicken hens are okay, but I have a few roosters that think scaring the ducks is a hoot! And one of my roosters likes to try and spar with my young embden when it is eating. Of course this makes the embden bite the rooster's booty when he has his back turned

Swans are very expensive, plus you have to have a pond for them. If you're lucky you can sometimes find swans for $200-$300 each, but that's rare.

Go with geese, you won't regret it!

Do you mean she wasn't comfortable laying her eggs anywhere so she got eggbound? Does this really happen with geese?

Yup, the ducks kept badgering her constantly, and she tried to make a nest in the dog house but they kept kicking her out. If only I would have known!
I would have separated her from the rest and made sure she had a quiet nest spot all to herself for a few days.

I walked outside and she was just laying there, her head limp on the ground and her wings spread out... She looked like she just drifted off and went to sleep...

I miss Perdi.

The moral of the story is: Make sure you have a PAIR (or even a trio) of geese! Don't get a lone goosey girl or gander.
