So what's your chickens favorite...yet weird treat?

Ketchup. Now this would be awesome as a breed ... pre-ketchuped chicken.

That is sad about the roosters not getting to enjoy the treats as much as the girls. But I beleive that that is a sure sign of good rooster that looks out for his girls first and then will eat something. I have 2 rooster Jack is the alpha so what he says goes and JJ is a very good boy as well. They are both good to the girls.

I just dumped a few dozen crickets in my run and they went bonkers for them. McNugget got 10 herself. She seems to be the crafty one. I shook some out of the box and dropped it. While the other girls chased thoose McNugget stood there and nabbed the ones running out of the box one by one hehe

My chickens loved chicken.

Anytime I dropped a worm in their pen, one would manage to get it and was chased by the others.

It's pretty funny when the chickens peck a hole in a ripe tomato, my duck would stick her whole bill in the hole and slurp the insides!

You couldn't see her bill!

my tuna sandwich. it had sweet relish, onion, celery and mayo, and that the little bugger took it right out of my hand. i didn't stand a chance went and made a new one and ate it before i came outside

My chickens get pretty much anything in my fridge that's a little too old for me to want to eat it anymore (never spoiled, of course). They don't go absolutely crazy for everything, but there's very little they just won't eat. Veggies, cooked meat, pasta, they'll eat it all.

I think their favorite is any kind of bread. I love giving them soft tortilla shells that are going stale - it's somehow amusing watching them peck holes in them. Cooked rice is also always a hit.

Last summer they really enjoyed watermelon rinds. They also got any of the garden zucchini that started getting blossom end rot - they made pretty quick work of them (I usually had to break the zucchini open so they had somewhere to start).

Yesterday they got a container of coleslaw - I was surprised how much they seemed to enjoy that!

the other day mine got egg salad sandwiches, i was going to toss them the scraps my kids didnt finish but my 6 year old daughter got upset because there wasnt enough for all the birds to get some.......... i ended up having to fix a couple for the chickens
