small enclosure but she did a good job for about 3 weeks then i took them. guess it isnt a usual thing..

She might, but she would also be disproportionately heavy - and likely crush them.
Older chicken chicks/pullets often bond with smaller quail chicks, I've seen it in my own brooder coop. Just don't put too many older chicks together with the quail babies (just 1 is enough), otherwise they could smother them as well. Then you could see how they all get along as they mature into egg-laying adults, and you may have a bond for life!
