So with the price of eggs & cheese, would a goat be cheaper????

If you are doing it for personal consumption, then it probably will not be cheaper to raise your own dairy goat.

If you are doing it for the love of quality wholesome food, then it's worth the price.

I reckon I put $8 per week into my lactating animals in feed alone. I doubt I spent $16 per week on milk. And I know if I look into the actual extended cost of raising goats (fencing, insurance, equipment, vacines, medicines, milking equipment, milking supplies, feeders, waterers, hoof trimmers, etc) then I'm sure it would pencil out very badly for me.

But, milking your own goat is simply awesome on so many levels that you just can't assign a $$ to it.
