I used to raise them and would just sit and watch the male wrap around the female and spit those eggs up into the bubbles. It was time consuming though. I didn't want to leave my female in there too long. Plus I know space shouldn't be a problem with them, but over the years it's become on for me.

Nice that you're helping the member out with so much information. I'll have to come back and actually read it later on.

Kevin565,

I could something very similar to your betta post although mine would deal with sunfishes (bluegill, crappie, largemouth bass). I also employ live foods (usually brine shrimp) for first weeks which repressents nearly 90% of feeding costs for first 30 days. When it comes to alternative live forages (i.e. zooplankton) you can also consider that multiple species of water flea (i.e. Daphmia spp., Moina spp., Ceriodaphnia spp.) and copepods are possible. Not all are equally in respect to ease of culture or food quality. Species of zoolankton, what they are fed, and how zooplankton are applied can also be important concerns.

I know quite a few people who just leave them in their and come back in like 10 minutes. I could never do that because so many things could go wrong in the breeding process.

Been a lot of yeasr since I was really into it, but I had little kids at home when I got out of it. Always something needed doing and I know things can happen because they did once. Only out of the room long enough to grab a first aid kit and my female was being torn apart. I also didn't pull the male in time once. Ended up with all that work and he ate all but one of the fry. Talk about your child abuse. I figured I'd get back to it, but I think I have enough projects for now.

I wanted to breed my betta never did. And then he died a couple of weeks ago. Shoud I get a nother one? I think I should. What color should I get. I had a blue red one it was pretty.

. Fish can be such rough breeders. The worst case was when I bred Convicts
