Soaking up excess moisture

There's a spot in our coop that has a lot of moisture on the ground. This is where the girls poop when they are roosting. I clean it weekly and replace their bedding with clean straw but that doesn't seem to help with this corner.
Is there anything I can put on the ground to soak up the moisture and possibly sanitize?

What does the area outside the coop look like? You need to divert the water away from the coop to dry that area up.

There's a very slight slope that allows water to run in. Fixing this issue is top priority for us this summer. We have no entered the dry season where we live and there isn't any rain for probably ever, until fall. But beyond the rain from winter, this is where the girls poop so it's just kind of wet there and I need to put something on the ground

I would put a poop board under the roosts then cover it with washed sand and PDZ then scoop it clean every morning. It keeps the bedding in the coop cleaner and dry. But as you wrote, stopping the water coming in it's critical and should be done ASAP. Nothing you put down will soak up the water if it is coming in from a drainage issue.

Yes, agreed. It's been a long winter with me as a full time nursing student. I wasn't able to give my land the attention it needed. I'm out of school for the summer and able to finish projects

PDZ is basically zeolite, a mineral that absorbs odors. You can buy 25# bags at TSC for about $10. It's sold as a horse stall freshener.

I would definitely put a poop board under their roost!

Is the floor just compacted soil? Chickens have a way of packing the dirt down. I've found that if I take a pick to it and break it up the water can soak in a bit better. I know this doesn't solve your larger drainage issue, and I think the poop board suggestion is a good one, but perhaps some of that standing water would soak into the ground if you break up the top layer a bit.
