What is the difference in the soap if you use essential oil vs. FO??

Do you ever make your own FO?? I heard that you just put a few drops of EO in jojoba oil to make FO...

I have lots of little bottles of EO that I used for other things that I would consider either using straight in the soap or making FO....

Which is better to use in soap?? EO or FO??

Backyard Buddies, The grapefruit I use is an essential oil.

Ametauss, I use Lavender essential oil instead of the fragrance oil because I find the aroma does not dissipate in the soap as it goes thru the gel phase.
I have found it takes less EO than it does FO. I also find that there is a trial and error in the use of EOs and FOs. There will be overtones and undertones.
To try out different combinations, try using a touch of EO/FO on cotton swabs. Place these in a plastic snack bag that seals. Label the bag and allow the scents to blend and mellow. If the sample smells right, then you can mix enough for a batch/

BB~I have got some scents from Texas Natural Supply and the herbs to put in the soap or oil from there too. I also have ordered several from Southern Garden Scents. You can buy 5 samples for $3 and they ship out really fast, well both companies do. I got these off MLF site and the soap I sent for the swap has something from both companies in it. Sorry didn't catch this sooner but things are crazy round here again as usual. My dd is going to her first prom Saturday so that has added to everything.

OMG, Yuzu is one of my super alltime favorites EVER. It fades, like all citrus scents, so I use a lot. I believe that the one I like best comes from The Scent Works.

Poodles are awesome! My littlest mini, Glory, had two puppies just tonight.

Unfortunately, they're both boys (we were hoping for a gorgeous girl to show), but man, I bet they're gonna be show-stoppers.

Delta (Miss Snarly in the avatar) is harmless, believe me. Here's a more typical pose. I defy anyone to show me a longer tongue on a dog than this!

Be careful--I have lost some pretty bars to snacking poos! They don't consume it, but they usually chew it up pretty good before deciding that they don't need to wash their mouths out, after all!
