Soap Makers Help!

My MIL is going to have another order for me to fill tomorrow. I had to make her a list of quantity and cost so that the women at work know. Plus I don't think she fully understood that I have to make sure I have plenty of soap as well for the market. I NEED more molds

Can Always use more molds!

I soaped the Black raspberry cream last night in my mini B&B mold. It smells so good. Not to sure on the swirls though. I'll post a picture, but I don't think they turned out great. It is hard as heck to get those charcole capsules open.

ETA: Congrats on the order!

Here are some pictures of the Black Raspberry Cream. Colored with charcole and clay. Colors are not as red as they look in the pictures. I had to take them in the house because it's raining here.

Just out of the mold

I like them. I think the swirling turned out great espeacially the look of it when it is cut. I'm never happy about how my colors or attemps at swirling turn out. I scented some soap the other day so that I can felt it. I left the soap plain looking though. I have a feeling that will catch some peoples attention at the FM.
Are all the soaps you make for the B&B that size?

They do look better cut than I thought they would. All the bars are the same size. I'm going to use these as samples and sell them for $.50 at the farmers market.
I'm still in the talking stage with the B&B. I have sent pictures and samples to her, but don't have an order yet.

ETA: I think your felted soaps are going to go over really well at the farmer's market. They looked awesome!

That is a great idea about using them for samples at market. I was thinking maybe I should take one of my soaps from the log mold and my scale and cut to their wants. My only thing is won't that be hard as heck to cut?

I've cut cured soap and it is hard but not impossible. You can always try and see how it goes. What kind of cutter do you use? I don't know how it would do if you use a wire one. I think the soaps have to be pretty soft.

I bet it would be a great conversation starter, but if you get real busy do you think you can get the soap cut, weighed and bagged quickly? You could make business cards with your info on the front and ingredients on the back. It would save you in packaging cost if you do that too!

The business card is a great idea. I don't have a cutter. I use a SS pastry cutter free handed. It has definitely taken practice to get it straight and at a weight where its not all over the place. I want to get a cutter the I have been looking at but can't do it just yet. It is on the list of things to purchase.

I don't think I could do that at all! My lines are all over the place even when I have something to guide me. You must be good at it!

I slurged and ordered a tank Wednesday. I am so looking forward to straight cut soap!

I had a lot of practice before I bought my last mold. They still get crooked but no where near as bad as they did. I think its because I forced myself to stop being nervous about screwing it up and just cut and weigh as I go.
