Ah..... someday I hope to be soaping as much as you are. I did get a small small order but I can go to Wally world and pick up some more oils.
I ordered 20 pounds of lard from the local butcher. I'm going to try my hand at rendering it.
What are you guys paying for lye, including shipping? My initial order was from Camden Grey. The price per pound was great, but once I had it shipped all the way across the US, I found that I could do better by having it delivered to my local Ace Hardware (they don't charge for ship-to-store). My cost, including tax, was $4.35/lb at Ace. No sales tax states may be less than that. What price are you paying per pound, including shipping?

I know there was some one earlier on this thread who was rendering their own lard. I don't think she has posted in a while though. I definately think you should use that as a selling point. Is the meat from a local source too?
Yeah, all the stuff going there is from local farms. They are a small town butcher way off from where most people would think to find one I think. I found them by accident and then later found out that my in laws used to buy sides of beef there.
Oh and by the way..... I bought 4 assorted chicks that are supposed to be pullets and the last 3 itty bitty baby ducks
DH is gonna flip. He told me no ducks but I saw them and my kids didn't help me curb my addiction at all
I thought there were 4 and so I asked for 2 and then I saw there was one left and told her I would take that one to.
Oh and I bought duck grower is that ok? I haven't had ducks in forever and need a refresher course.
OMG, how cute are those ducks! And the little chickies too. Awww. I'm about ready to chuck my duckies out, they are soooo messy. But haven't yet cause they look so cute when they get in the tub.
