Two of the relatives thought I had made huge bars of fudge to.

Cute peeps, Morgaine!!

Your table looks nice! It sounds like you're assessing what works and making adjustments, which is a good thing to do.

Do you carry any additional products in your line like soap dishes and such? How about gift packs, a soap dish with a soap in it? Loofas, scrubbing washcloths, other exfoliating items and such might also draw more people to your booth.

Here in OC, we have a HUGE outdoor market. It runs all year long (except when the fair is going) and gets more than 2,000,000 visitors a year! It's HUGE so with that much competition, the vendors go all out with their decor. You might be able to see some pics and get some additional ideas here: http://www.ocmarketplace.com/

I'm working on getting some soap dishes made, and I would like to order some natural sponges and grow some loofa. The soap dishes I'm trying to find the right varnish for them, but haven't found it locally.

I looked for wooden soap dishes online but the ones I found were a lot more then what is was going to pay. I have been using wash cloths with the some of the gift ones that I made. It is hard to find nice looking soap dishes around here. Most of them are ugly plastic ones. I mean UGLY

My DH mae me a display a little while ago. I'll post pics soon.

I can't wait to see your display! I've just been putting boxes under the table cloth, but haven't been super happy with that. i think I am going to go to good will and the thrift store and see if I can find some other table cloths. I don't think white would be the right color, but I'm thinking a dark hunter green or maybe a tan over the maroon.

I got my oils in but I'm not sure how to open the 50# of coconut oil. Anyone know?

See the ridges on the side of the lid? You've got to break those. I used a knife to do so. Then, each time you need to open the lid, you have to lift pretty much each of those little tabs that are created when you cut the ridges.

The good news about that is that you can pretty much knock that thing over and it probably won't leak.

Thanks so much BB, I was going to wait for hubby to get home, I gave up. AAA chemical's was much easier to get into. I lucked out that dh was home for lunch when it arrived and hauled it into the house but had to leave then. He's going to help me put the 35# of RBO into old olive oil containers I've been saving. Much easier! I've got a PTO meeting but I'm going to soap at least 1 batch, but which one? lol. I think I'll soap lemon verbena, always a favorite.

I have to say I'm new here, but you soap makers are insane!! 199 pages???? No way I could get through all that!

Besides I haven't made soap in years... doesn't mean I don't think about it a lot though. Oh the dried herbs, the essential oils, all the fun oil combinations..... mmmmm
