Soap Makers Help!

Step 7-- Send your husband on a fishing trip.

Of course you can soap small. I usually do anywhere from 3-6 pound batches.

DON'T tell her that!! She needs to know that she can take this one step at a time. Small batch today, small batch tomorrow morning, small batch at noon. Don't overwhelm her. We are just beginning to make progress. You wouldn't want her to slide back into soaplessness would you?

Step 8--Don't listen to detractors.

I have to agree! I can't wait till the soap is able to be unmolded so I can make a new batch. Once I get the soap in the mold, my mind starts thinking about the next one I want to try.

I'm only making small batches. They are usually 2 lbs to 2-1/2 lbs.

Carry on with out me....I have kids to put to bed and they are beginning to think mom's face bears a strong resemblance to the back of my head. Going offline but not off soaping....Happy Soaping Dreams!!

lol, y'all are so funny! I love the 12 step program!

I have a queastion about layering. Do you make seperate batches or one batch, seperate, color, and then pour each layer?

And does anyone know if I can add some vanilla to my soap to get a natural tan? How much do you think? I've got to get that coconut lime verbena made and I have two ideas. 1. make 1 batch, but pour into 3 molds, repeat for other two layers. Down side, I only have enough fragrance for two batches, so the middle white layer will be unscented. or, 2. I make one batch, soap, seperate them and color them individually, and then pour. Down side, I really want nice even layers and I'm worry that they will mix because the bottom layer will not be hard enough.

Thought?
