Soap Makers Help!

I used my little drawer liner mold to tilt a log mold on each side and then put my 8# weights on the other sides to keep them in place. I poured the first layer tilted, did a diferent batch, the set the molds right and poured the other layer. Next time I'll pour at a thinner trace to get a straighter line. I used a pretty steep water discount (40% lye solution) and soaped a little warmer than normal so it set up more than I wanted when I blended in the scent, but I wanted to make sure it was all mixed in correctly.

I like eou too. I've been very happy with them, although I haven't tried their lavender. I had stocked up on 3 pounds when brambleberry was having a sale. I love eou's bitter almond fragrance too. Smells just like almond extract and is really cheap!

Oh, y'all have a big market then! Ours rarely gets over 20 vendors, usually in the teens. Wednesdays there are 5-7 vendors.

cheeptrick!!! I had been wondering where you were. I'm so sorry for what you and hubby have been going through and will definitely keep you all in my prayers.

chiknwhisperer - Wishing you all kinds of wonderful wishes for your first FM tomorrow! I can't wait to hear all about it and will be watching the thread tomorrow evening to see how it went! I'm sorry about the baby you lost.

NanaKat - Thanks so much for sharing all your info about the green tea with us. I'm going to give it a try one of these days!

Morgaine - How did it go at Art Step/First Friday today?

I haven't done much soaping lately. I'm currently working on the wedding that takes place next month. The soaps (Lemon Verbena and Grapefruit) are both done and curing. This is a beach wedding so the soaps will be placed into natural woven palm boxes, then tied with a bow.

Thanks all...we are all good now...just enjoying and cherishing every second.

I rebatched a whole bunch of soap tonight and added white Volcanic ASH/pumice to it....for gardening soap. I have only used it once and it came out nice...the ash is very fine like powder...but when lathering...I can really feel the exfoliation happening.

So with this rebatch soap....I eeked out another 40 bars out for my show.

These are bigger bars!! I'll have to post photos...just have to charge the batteries for the camera!

CW, how did your FM go yesterday?

Morgaine, did you have a FM yesterday too? I loved your tilted soap. I'm going to have to try that.

Cheeptrick, I'm glad things are looking up for you.

Has anyone heard how things are going for Ninjapoodles and her DH?

NP and hubby are still working on their house according to FB.
The FM didn't go to bad. I made a $108.35. The season fee was a $150 so I'm close to that amount. Hopefully I will do better next week. I think since it was the first day not as many people showed up because they didn't know it had started. My DH had to work over so he wasn't able to come with me. My SIL came and helped me and my best friend of like 11 years came out with her daughter. It went pretty good. I forgot my caera and had to use my SIL's phone but I have to wait for her DH to take off the pics because she doesn't know how.

Congrats on the sales!

That's a great first day and I know that your sales will grow as you develop return clients and their friends. Soaps make fabulous gifts and I'm certain that some of those recipients will become repeat customers as well. Do you go again next week?
