Soap Makers Help!

You are very missed. I am still trying to figure out when I can get over to your place and check things out. I don't live all that far from you and think it would really be cool for the kids to see everything you have there. I think everyone but my 13 year old will be very impressed.

Been crazy/busy at work at we implement the new computer system for more divisions.

Been crazy/busy at home with gardens & farmer's market.

Any spare time is used writing letters to my son in Recruit Training for the Marine Corps

chiknwhisperer - your soap looks great!

We got rained out Saturday for the FM, but they are calling for sun and a high of 80F for this weekend.
I have around 14 -15 different soaps - between 5-9 bars of each, ready to go other than being banded, which will take me tomorrow to finish up. Should I take that many or should I cut down the amount? It's going to be a busy day for us. DS is having his end of school sleep over that night too. Hopefully he won't be to tired after being out at the FM with me most of the day.

My latest batches to be unmolded, one was a Hemp soap that I sented with lemongrass (last minute decision to scent it). It's a nice green colour and the nutty smell from the hemp really compliments the lemongrass nicely. I'm definitely going to be ordering more hemp oil. The other was Black Raspberry Vanilla scent but the colouring didn't work out, but I'm ignoring that due to the smell being so nice. Definitely ordering it in a larger size.

I made more watermelon today, colour looked good when I covered it, as well as a test batch of honeydew melon. Not happy with the colour of the honeydew one but hey that's why it's a test batch.

Does anyone make a laundry soap? Or know what oils are best to use? I was thinking a basic recipe of coconut, olive pomace and palm.

I just ordered 2 books from Amazon! Soap makers companion and Everything soapmaking. I can't wait for them to get here!! Maybe soon after I read them I can post pictures of my own soap instead of just admiring pictures of everyone elses soap.

I love it. You wrap the soap in carded wool. Wash cloth and soap in one

I don't have any listed on Etsy because I have been trying to sell them at the FM. I have started to sell a few more finally. I'll post pics later of three types that I have right now.

y'all will never believe what I did about an hour ago. I was soaping, already done one batch, poured the second one into the mold (lavender & oatmeal) and when I went to go put the mold under the blanket and it suddenly felt very light. I had forgotten to snap the base onto the sides and I had 4 pounds of raw soap all over the place. Thank God it was on my work table and not my dining table. I scoop everything back into the pot (that I could), think WTH, this batch won't be sellable any way, so I use some of my new colorants from BB and poured it into a B&B mold. It was a nightmare cleaning it out of the rug. I will not be doing that again.
