chiknwhisperer - How much clay did you end up using PPO for that swirl you did the other day? I'm about to make a blood orange/patchouli soap and think that look would fit nicely with it.

I made a 4 pound pound batch of soap and took out about a pound of it for a swirl and added a tablespoon and a half. I like the colo that it turned out.

Congrats on the new selling possibility, Morgaine! It looks like a great place and I bet you'll do very well there!

I just soaped the blood orange/patchouli (TSW's scent called Sanguigno). I did a bit of a water discount this time and was caught off guard a bit as to how much more quickly it gets to a thick trace. I scooped out some of it into another container to add the French red clay for a swirl and next thing I knew, the first pot had already gotten pretty thick. No one else has reported A with this scent, so I can only guess it was the discounting, which I only did at 33%, so not nearly as much as some of you guys do. I ended up plopping that part of it into the mold, so I doubt that my swirls are going to be as defined as I had hoped. It's supposed to D to a light yellow, so with the reddish swirl, I hope it looks nice.

Couldn't stop laughing at the image it brought to mind....

and I thought I was the only one that things like that happen to....

I made some black slave and thought to wash the pot out with a paper towel and reached into the pot and swirled my arm around and realized that my whole arm was now black from the slave on the top part of the pot.... Always start at the top.....

I finally got my cucumber soap done tonight. I have had absolutely no motivation to soap the last couple days because it has been so hot and humid in the house. It was 88 in here yesterday and it is still 85 in here. We have had our air conditioner going since 5 and it only dropped 2 degrees

I'm not sure whether this soap went into the gel phase or not. I put my hand on it and it was quite warm, but when I took a peek, I didn't see anything that looked like gel. I was gone for a couple of hours, so perhaps I missed it. Really curious about this one . . . . I have a really busy day tomorrow, so I hope I can squeeze some cutting time in between appointments and such.

chiknwhisperer - What did you do for your cucumber soap? Did you put cucumbers in it or just the scent?

ametauss - What is black slave? Is that a kind of soap? I assume it really is black but what makes it that way?

I put 16oz of cucumber in it, peels and all. It turns a pale green when it is fully cured. It looks pretty I think and there are no EO or FOs added. I keep having people ask for it but I have been out for a while.
