Soap Makers Help!

I unmolded and it was hard as rock. I had three pieces crack but the rest came out fine. I just put a Maple Pecan and Vanilla soap to rest a little while ago. I hope that one will be fine. I had to use my smaller mold for that though because the large one wiped me out on a few of my oils that I use all the time.

This is an interesting thread. Something I would like to try but this thread is too long for me to read so if someone mentioned already what I am about to ask...sorry....

I tend to like to use anti bacterial soaps. I have never made my own. I have used fresh clay on my face as a mask but that is it...

SO, how would you get some antibacterial stuff in your soap..or can you?

Honestly I'm not sure if any of the stuff I have put in my soaps are anti-bacterial. I don't use anti-bacterial soaps from the store. I don't get sick as much as when I used to use the all the time. But then again I grew up eating dirt and walking everywhere barefoot and so have my kids.

Tee Tree eo is antibacterial, so I think soap made with it would be.

However, this article says that antibacterial soap will make you sicker.

I agree, soap is just fine you don't need all that extra stuff added.

I was thinking of high amounts like 40-50%. It really just depends on how balanced your recipe is, like you said.

I just wanted to stop in and say hello. We just got back from vacation. While I had a computer with me, I've gotten NO notices from this thread so I probably got unsubscribed somehow. I went back and read everything I missed, which was from a week BEFORE I left. Hmmmm.

I hope to get back to soaping later this week. Right now I'm nursing my bum knee that I re-injured hauling luggage up the stairs in the airport in Maui.
