Soap Makers Help!

It's hard to say for sure, look on the back and list which dyes are used and I can see if I have any notes on them.

I am not a huge fan of FD&C dyes. The few times I used them they stained the lather, the soap dish and the cools bleed into eachother. But that is a personal prefference of mine. I'm sure there are people who love to soap with them too.

Thanks Morgaine-I am at work & my food coloring is at home so won't be able to check until tonight. I was hoping to be able to use some as I want to make soap this weekend & don't have any other dyes to use & its too late to order anything for this weekend!!

If you get the chance to order some I love the POP micas from TKB trading. They have this wonderful sampler that costs about $20 and gives you a good selection of colors. They really last a long time as you don't need to use much in order to get a great look.

Just made a batch of this...thanks morgaine for the recipe! Super easy and it's a beautiful cream white color.

Highly recommend! I was thinking of adding cinnamon and swirling it in- but wasn't sure what the outcome would be.

Used the recipe Walkerkm posted above, thanks Morgaine. The soap is colored with Turmeric and scented with Spiced Fig fragrance oil.

I do hope it lightens up but, I like it.

This is how it looks today out of the mold. Interesting, it looks and smells faintly like pumpkin. The only FO I used was Spiced Fig.

Very pretty MSDeb! Beautiful swirls! Where did you get your mold?
What kind of molds do most of you use? My DH made me a couple of the long wooden kind that comes apart. I've used one of them and it worked very well. I think it measures 4"x21" with an insert to accommodate different size batches. So far I've only made 4lb ones. I will try to post some pics tomorrow of molds and the 2 batches of soap I have made. Going to make lavender soap when my scents get here on thurs. My lavender is just starting to bloom! Can't wait to use it in my soaps! Can I use fresh or does it need to be dried? I'm thinking of infusing it into my oil. I would like to try swirling it. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what would work with Lavender? I really love making soap! It is so relaxing and gratifying! My first batch is a little into week 3 of cure. Can't wait to use it!
Everyone have a safe, wonderful Memorial Day and remember our military who gave the ultimate for our freedom & pray for those serving.
God bless America!!
