Soap Makers Help!

Well, I unmolded the soap heated & added the olive oil, it was pretty crumbly looking but I stirred it with the stick blender then glopped (had to pack it so it would stick together) it back into the mold and covered it with a couple of quilts. I don't think it is going to look very good as it was SO crumbly. I will probably end up doing the rebatch like she says on Millersoap. I just can't believe I did that stupid thing!! Anyway, I will report back on how it ended up in a day or so.
Thank for the input!

You can rebatch soap and make something even better. Maybe cube it or shred it into another batch..

When I rebatched my honey and milk soap...I just added more milk and melted it down. It was fine.

OK ladies, just finished pag 216!!!

I was very very happy with the dark patchouli from Anatolian Treasures (password for the wholesale section is rose otto). I really liked it and I am not a huge fan of patchouli.

EOU has some good stuff too, but the prices were higher last time I ordered. And with the Anatolian Treasures, they always give free sample sniffies!

Stay away from the patch at Camden Grey, it was poor quality the one time I ordered from there.

I have never used Camellia oil.

I like Lebermuth too, but they have a $100 minimum order.

Thank you for the quick reply and the information about Anatolian Treasures, I haven't been to their site before. I do like the companies that send free samples with your order. The more sites I visited looking for patchouli oil the more I realized it was going to come down to a balance between quality and affordability.

I have not ordered anything from Camden Grey. They are getting some nasty reviews about the quality of their product and bad customer service. No sense in spending money there until they get better.

Guess I'll try the Camellia oil in some lotion first and wait and see if anyone has soaped with it.

The first batch of lotion I made was a huge hit. I went in to my hubby's stash last night to give some away and he didn't want to give it up until I said I wasn't making more until it was gone. Men.

Price of patch a few years ago were all over $100/lb for the dark. It came way down last year and then rose a little toward the begining of this year. It all has to do with crops. The anatolian treasures has a pretty good price. It's not super cheap, but it is top quality. I love free stuff too

And remember a little patch goes a long way!

Glad the lotion is going over well!

I had one lady come to my booth and said her husband sent her over to get a bar of Lemongrass. She takes a little sniffing the others and then buys the one bar of lemongrass. Hubby comes up and she said "I got your soap." He looks and goes, "you only got one bar?" He looks at me and says "it was 5 bars for $20 right? Go ahead and give me 4 more." It was so funny! Men are so funny

I've ordered from Camden Grey twice with great results. If there are better companies...I want to try them too:) I have not made a Patchouli soap yet. I have always hated that scent:( So many of my customers are requesting it though...I'll have to wing it and not know if it's good or bad... I'll make it with a clothespin on my nose...lol

I'm going to use it as a base for the Spiced Fig and see if it brings it to life. The batch I made last weekend smells like pumpkin. Not what I had in mind at all. I'm old enough I remember all the guys were wearing it when we were teenagers!
