MY DD said the same...she is all set to make birthday gemstone soaps!

I'm going to make my sweet grass soap tonight....and I'm going to use the liquid chlorophyll IN the lye this time and I'll post photos of how it goes!!

I had great results adding the chlorophyll to the oils and mixing just before I added the lye. Mine were just a little darker than red head's.

Oops...sorry...I meant to the oil! I misspoke...I'm pretty sure the lye would change its colors?? Or maybe not...I'll test it out tonight...I've only added at trace so I'll know tonight. I'll add a few drops to the lye just to test it out.....see what happens.

I was an idiot and went shopping the saturday after Thanksgiving. I forgot that it was Thanksgiving weekend

I hate busy stores during the holidays. Anyway, they were having a good sale on those molds and I just couldn't paa them up. I think I got one of all the molds they had except for maybe one or two that I didn't care for. The only other place that I have found molds I like are at Camden-Grey. But those are $6.50 a mold

I'm cheap lol.

I love my molds from Rita Richards aka Kelsei Molds.

I have some 30- and 42- bar molds.

I place a garbage bag on the bottom, press in the sides, pour my soap (swirling is a cinch!), add the dividers, cover with a blanket. In 24 hours, use a vise-grip to pull up the dividers, bevel the edges and I'm ready to rock and roll!

Definitely a melt and pour.

No, most M&P 'soaps' are actually detergents and not soap at all.

You can do the same thing using CP, although the base will not be clear.

Actually - you can make transparent soap using the HP method - not for the beginner though

I've just read the ingredients from bramble berries site. I'm not even sure I would know what the detergents were listed as, I just saw that it had sodium hydroxide on there.

List of ingredients for the clear melt and pour base.
Glycerine, Palm Oil, Coconut Oil, Lauric Acid, Purified Water, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sorbitol, Triethanolamine, Sodium Chloride, EDTA

Ok, I just want to let you folks know I spent my whole work day reading through this post. My eyes are tired, my neck is stiff and I'm going home.........I've got to see if I have any lye in the basement.
