Oh, well that could be a problem if you're just making small batches. I went through 8 lbs. pretty quickly in 7 batches of soap and could have made more if I had more time.
You may have to make the Costco decision here. Is the big box going to get used or is it too much and you'll waste it? A discount isn't a discount if you aren't going to use it all.
Did you try calling your local Ace Hardware to see if they have any Rooto in stock? Mine didn't, but they found another one nearby who did. Ace shows 3 stores within 30 miles of Pensacola.
Ok, here is my new idea for presenting the Christmas gifts.
I am hopeing that it will apeal to not only the local realatives but the ones you are from Chicago as well. Those ones tend to look down at the stuff around here. I hope I have meet a good middle ground. I just have to go get cellephane and I'll be done. I labeled them so that I know who gets them. My MIL gets the best one and it goes from there. So what do ya think? Should I change anything?
I also took care of the white spot on that last one lol.
I went to Old Time Pottery yesterday and was looking in their bathroom section and found a whole pile of these soap holders for a buck each. But now I have to go back and get at least three more because of the extra people coming I kinda mis-counted. lol

Wooo hooo! That's awesome! Now you have a ready supply of lye when you need it! I always find that Ace has really helpful and friendly workers. If you give them a few days notice, they'll always do their best to have an item in stock for you. I try to give them my business whenever I can.
As far as measurements, the first question you need to answer is how many bars you want to make at a time.

I think sitting them on a heating pad would work!
OK, LOL at me, not at what you wrote. When I first read this, I was in a hurry and initially thought you were suggesting that *I* sit on the molds with a heating pad.
Yes, I imagine YOUR idea would work just fine, especially if there was a towel between the heating pad and the molds.
