what is that swirling????

I don't know if that is swirling, but it sure it pretty.

That is beautiful!!!

The swirling is probably where some gel & non-gelled soap got mixed together when you stirred it. I think it looks way cool!!

Congrats!!!

Ok so I am trying my next batch.. I was trying to use just coconut milk for my liquid.. I was adding my lye and it turned to pudding.. almost like it traced on me..

how does one do an all liquid that has fats in it?

OMG!!!! I am SOOOOOO envious!!! I cannot wait to make my first batch!!! Smom that is gorgeous!!!! What a great job you did on that, I am wowed!!!

the milk was cold..and the bowl I was stirring it in was in an ice bath.. I was adding the lye one tsp at a time.. making sure it was all stirred in and giving it a little time..

smom, I actually got lucky with the selling lol. My MIL bought a bunch of soaps as Christmas presents for the people on line her line. She is a crew leader at a factory. Any way one of the ladies there liked them so much that she ordered five more. And then my DH was talking to a friend of his at work and I came up in the subject

and he hasn't even seen the soaps and has ordered one and will pay five dollars for it

Now I'm trying to figure out who else I can get under the magical influence of my soaps

My best guess is that it could be either the chocolate or the soy. Both are known allergens. As a kid, I had some sensitivities. Irish Spring made me break out badly and I would break out in a big rash behind my knees if I ate too much chocolate. I don't seem to have that problem any more now that I'm older.

If she's interested in your soaps, you could probably make her a small batch of a pure Olive Oil Castile soap with no scents or additives. I would think she'd do great with that.

That swirling looks neat - almost pearlized. Sometimes what we think are mistakes are just new discoveries. I bet you're going to try to replicate that again. Very neat looking.
