Oh, probably the same thing. The bigger ones I bought also makes 6 heart shaped items. I'm not sure how many ounces of soap it would be, but I'm guessing somewhere around 2.5 - 3, just looking at it. It's deeper than how I normally cut my soaps. I bought 3 of those as well and may try them for my soap I'm making today.

I have milk and I have rose scent. So, I think I might make Rose Milk soap. Sound good?

The only thing is that I wish I could color them pink.

I only have juice - cranberry/hibiscus. I actually wondered about raiding my old makeup stash and finding a blush to crush.

I'm sure someone has tried that before.

What kind of "dark" are you thinking?

oh some type of brown red... like a "burnt" oatmeal... like letting it get too hot kinda.. or the dark colors that people keep wanting to avoid..

LOL. OK, that's easy. Use room temp milk and dump your lye in there more quickly. Don't put it in an ice bath.

Ya know, the opposite of what we're told to do.

Seriously, I don't know about brown red, but you can get brown by adding some things you have around the house like cocoa or cinnamon or coffee.

Is there a scent you're trying to match the color to?

Oh, I hope you didn't toss it! I think what you're saying is that the lye began to saponify the milk fats before you got to the part where you added your oils. Don't even worry about that.

Did you soap it?

Silicone anything works great for CP as long as the shape of the silicone liner can stand up to the weight of the soap you'll be pouring in. Small molds work better than, say, a large loaf mold, because the larger one collapses under the weight of the liquid soap, unless you have it sitting inside another pan.

Yay! I'm playing with my soap recipe right now and am about to get started.

Will beet juice work to add a pinkish tone to soap?

no I didnt toss it.. but I didnt use it either.. it is still sitting in one of my pots...

when it cooled it hardened.. kinda like when you melt butter and then cool it again.. it has that funny texture..

and it is hard... very hard..

one problem.. I didnt put all the lye into it.. so I really dont know exactly how much lye is in the coconut milk I re-measured the rest of the lye and added what I had already used to the scale and dumped that into water then added my one can of coconut milk and used that for my soap...

I still have this stuff.. dont really want to waste it but not really sure how to use it??
