If I can find the time, I will soap this weekend. But, what to make? What to make???
I picked up more Grapeseed oil this morning, which I was out of.
I've unmolded the Bonsai but haven't cut it yet. At first I thought it'd be a different color than the little piece of Tweed you sent me. But, I held them up to one another and they're pretty close in color. COOL!!!
I went to a gem store jewelry store in town today and was able to drop off a few samples with them. They have only been there for three weeks but they do make gift baskets. I gave the samples that I had on me even though it wasn't all the soaps that I make. I spoke with the husband of the lady that owns the store and he said he would be happy to give her the samples. He said she is always looking for things to add to the gift baskets.

Yeah, that would be cool to be in gift baskets. Maybe you should approach salons too. I hope it woks out. Are they going to use full sized bars or sampl size?
BB, glad the infusion worked! Can't wait to see pictures! I'll post a picture of the Irish Tweed full size bars I did.
That's great chiknwhisperer! I hope that it turns into something for you. I agree with Morgaine - Salons are another good option. If you have Day Spas in your area (they're EVERYwhere out this way), that might be a good one to try as well. Also try B&B's, gift shops, any store that caters to women, health food stores, produce markets that aim for the "buy local" crowd, etc.
Morgaine - I will post pix as soon as I get some good ones. By the time I had time to take them yesterday, the light was no longer good.
I'm completly out of almond and castor oil and don't have enough coconut oil to make anything but maybe a 1# batch. I had enough to make 2 batches last night of almond and oatmeal and rosemary mint but I had to add about 40 gr. of extra OO to make up for the short in Almond and castor. I also made a coconut shea bar scented with tea tree. It's a 80%Co/20%Sb with a 20% superfat. I'm interested to see how it does.
Here is my black raspberry cream bar wiht activated charcole and clay.
Green Irish Tweed made from OO infused with, comfrey, nettle, calendula, rosehips and chamomile. I like the way the top turned out. In the picture it looks much more yellow than it does IRL.
Here is the tea tree coconut/shea bar. You can it has developed A LOT of ash already. Not sure why because most of my other bars do not get ash unless I use Lavender eo.
Wow . . . 3 days without soaping? Can you do that???
Thanks. I'm thinking of rebatching soap scraps, but I hate cleaning the food processor. We'll see how desperate I get later, lol.
Has anyone used bitter almond fragrance oil before? how does it smell compared to regular almond? I added some to my order from Essential oil university and was curious.
