Soap Makers Help!

Morgaine your soaps look great! I am going to do a lavender with ground oatmeal and color it violet. I think I'm going to use my log mold for that one. I did a patchouly and sandalwood last night and tilted it in the mold.

Can't wait to see yours too! I love how we can all do Lavender soap and they all look different!

I can't wait to see your patchouli sandalwood, that sounds fantastic!

Should be able to use the canned, see no reason why not!

it is counted as part of your water. So if your recipe calls for 300 grams lye and 600 grams water, you can mix 400 grams water with your lye and then add 200 grams pumpkin at trace.

I forgot to say, personally, I would never use less water than lye, even if I am adding something like milk or pumpkin or cucumber at trace. The lye needs more water so that it can be fully dissolved and mixed with your oils. If not, you run the chance of having a lye heavy soap.

Morgaine...your new soaps are beautiful.
I just made a plain ol soap batch with titanium dioxide...cut it up and then rolled each bar out in a long log....and I just embedded them into another loaf (pumpkin spice made with carrot juice) and when I cut...I'll post photos...should be nice light orange soap with round circles of white. I think it's going to look cool!! I'll post photos later.

I have used pumpkin puree in cold process soap before...hated it. It also was a VERY hard soap...but its texture was weird....I steeped the puree in the lye and it burned it. But I'm sure others might try it another way...I also strained OUT the puree before I added to oils. Did not like it so much that I refused to use it again...in that manner...might try it again if you all have another way.

More scents and Vanilla EO will be here thursday and the mold will be here friday! Rita is such a great lady. She was out of the big molds and asked her hubby if he could make one so that it would be ready to be sent out tomorrow. And I already have my tracking number to. I'm doing it 3 day delivery so that I can start soaping ASAP for the festival and plus it will help a lot when ever I'm able to get my soaps into a store.
Do you think that if I added the pumpkin at trace that that might help?

I would add pumpkin at trace, unless you are using for 100% of your liquid, then you would have to do like cheeptrick. Pumpkin Puree is so thick I would just use it as 1/2 your liquid and add at trace.

Great to hear about both y'alls molds! I'm pretty sure that mine will come in while I'm in Georgia.

Verry pretty Soaps!
