Soap Makers Help!

I'm with Morgaine on this one. SoapCalc!! It doesn't simply tell you the amount of lye you need, but tells you the levels of hardness, conditioning, creaminess, etc. as well as the fatty acid make-up of your soap. Loooove it!

I'm going to soap a plain OL soap for grating...and finish off another batch I had been layering. Balsam Fir...it's liquid chlorophyll on bottom, middle layer is swirled white and green, and top will be white. Might throw in another OMH...but we'll see when I get into it today.

That's funny, cheeptrick! Oh well. Can you at least tell when she hates one thing less than another?

Morgaine - That sounds great. I should get my notice from TSW today letting me know when my order should arrive and then I'll be able to send you some sniffies and such. Fun!

Oh, I might have to change mine to OMH, I got 5# of the fo from BB that they had discounted because it had a little too much vanilla in it. I can't detect a scent difference, i just think it will turn darker, not that big a deal to me. It was only $12 or 13 something a pound vs 22

So, how are you doing now?? R U hanging in there? I remember that day like it was yesterday. Now, on Monday my oldest starts HS and my youngest starts middle school. Where did the time go? Enjoy every moment of it!!

So, do you subscribe to the Bento thread here on BYC? I subscribe to it just for the eye candy.

My DD would probably let me pack her a Bento but I'm sure my 14 yo DS would have nothing to do with it.

OHHHHH AHHHHH....LOVE them both! I was thinking of using some charcoal/black oxide with pink...I think I'll remove the divider in the mold and do some swirls. DID you use your infused oils for the pink?? Dragons blood?? Those are gorgeous!!

BB I have eavesdropped in the Bento thread....but lately I've been getting ideas from flickr....
http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=bento+lunch+boxes We ordered those shiny metal indian tiffins for older girls and TOTORO bento box for kindergarter. AWESOME...I'm so surprised how much food they can get in them. I made watermelon with blackberries (wild from my own backward), salad, bagel, banana, OF course boiled bantam eggs. OH wait....I should probably post this on the bento thread!! LOL

OH...and I'm fine now not missing them at all!!

....I just booked a meeting about a oapmaking 101 class at a local farm. I already have 15 students...begging me!! Only going to do 3 hours...simple vegetarian soaps...will just detail tallow verbally. Its a huge educational dairy farm here that sells my soaps...I'm going to enjoy THIS!! (-:

Morgaine!! They're both beautiful!! The Gothic Rose looks so elegant!! You could do that same style with an Asian theme as well. So pretty!

I'm glad to hear you're doing OK, cheeptrick.

Pretty soon you'll see some nice benefits of a few hours to yourself. I've checked out flickr as well and am amazed at what people do with their Bento meals. I've seen the TOTORO box! We're huge Miyazaki fans here so that'd be a direction I'd also go if I still had a little one. Can't wait to hear how their day went.

Congrats on the class. But, why are you not doing a milk soap at a Dairy?

I know, beginners and all.

I love Miyazaki! We just saw Ponyo, not as good as Spirited Away, but still really good. My favorite of his is Princes Monoki (that doesn't look spelled right)
