Morgaine, You'll have to use that anise for the swap.... It is SOOOO AWESOME.... Else, I'll make a deal with you on one of my soaps if you send me one.... JUST LOVE IT!!
I'm planning to include a soap pocket with my swap soap along with some black salve since many of you have asked about both...
DD got her way and got pink and purple wash clothes to have me make colored pockets out of for her.... since they came 6 to a package, she won't get all of them...
Thanks, I'm happy with them, although I wish the color went all the way down. I really hope the scent tames down soon though. That licorice scent upsets my stomache. They might get moved to boxes sooner than normal.
I'm soaping another eo blend today, it's based on MLF Pepper Zest. It's Orange, lime, lemongrass, black Pepper and patchouli. And I'm also going to a scent blend I made that I'm calling Winter Cucumber. It's 10 parts cucumber melon fo, 1 part peppermint eo and 1 part spearmint eo. I'm going to add cucumber puree and do a green swirl.
I did a balsam fir...ITCHY TWITCHY!! Forgot DH was allergic to all things TREE...we all broke out in hives just from the oils being in the air. Poor guy...POOR me...I didn't know I had the allergy too!!
Those are beautiful bars....it looks like you'll only have to shave the smaller tippy tops off with that new mold NICE
...and when you do that the swirl on top will be so beautiful underneath. I love cutting the swirled soaps...we all EWWW and AHHH at it!
I did find acrylic at depot...but not enough thickness...might have to go industrial...got some calls in to find out. We'll see what we come up with!! If no...or too expensive...I'll see what i can do with the depot acrylic...I was thinking I could incorporate wood into it...somehow...dh is drawing out specs.
IT is cold here this morning in NH...I'm all wrapped in blanket!! BRRRRR
Aww man, so sorry to hear about the hives, that really sucks! A reminder of how powerful eo's can be though.
My Dh is looking at plexiglass to see about making me some more. Though it's not going to be anytime soon, just too busy with other stuff. When he gets home I'll ask him how thick it is, he can tell by looking, I'd measure but all tools are at the property. I'll get some close up pic for you later, but there is also some weather stripping in the groves to help prevent leaking. I have had no leaking issues though. I know you can get the weather stripping at the hardware store.

Wow! That must be a really strong eo, how did the soap turn out and by all means don't handle it unless you have gloves on.
The soap was awesome...I got rid of it quick...friend came and took it to her house. We all took Benadryl and it was fine...kids had no reaction?? Husband is allergic to balsam, beech, BIRCH, AND oak...we have even noticed he gets hives from burning it in the fireplace!! CAN You believe that??!! HE is big reason why I started soaping....so many allergies. Got request for balsam fir...bad idea...totally forgot about it.
