I don't use a stick blender. I stir with a fork, lol. I just stir it all up, wait a bit, stir, wait, stir, etc. I don't just sit there and stir for two hours straight, forget that! It probably takes a little longer my way, but less energy from me. Helps a lot for me, because of the two boys, I can't just sit and devote my attention to a bowl for an hour or so at a time.
I think the moving air will really help. I'm in Texas and our a/c runs more times out of the year than not. I would also maybe make sure that the bars are not too close together so that air gets to all the sides.
I'll try to get some pictures of my soaps up tomorrow. Most are retocks, but my OMH turned out well that I used bubble wrap on the top. And Crusader also turned out well.
I made lemongrass soap last weekend and cut it into bars. I held one to Dh's nose and asked him what it smelled like. He said "soap".
I asked what scent it smelled like and he said "wood?...cheese?" Mind you..it IS yellow like cheese and lemony like a pledge polished wooden table...other than that I can't explain. Not the reaction I was hoping for..lol. My daughters did get lemongrass right away though

Lol. Don't feel bad. My mother's favorite scent is lilac. So, I made her smell a lilac bar and asked her what it smelled like... "soap?" Lol. It definately smells like lilac though.
I'm glad I am not the only one that does this. I had one of my son's teenage friends come over & the poor kid walked in the door & I'm sticking a bar of soap under his nose. He was the only one that wasn't here when I made it! He did get the smell right so I felt good. So far nobody has gotten the honey almond yet. LOL. I am dying to make my lemon grass but just haven't had time!
