ONE YEAR AS OF THIS WEEK! and she is a BIG eater!!! a buff orpington. her clutch mate lays beautifully.

If she wasnt so sweet, she'd be gone.

At 24 weeks, you might not even have to make soup or a stew out of her. She should still be nice and juicy

Well, I've got a giant Light Sussex who is 14 MONTHS old and has yet to lay an egg. Tonight for the first time ever she did the "squat" so just maybe...... Just like Frittata said, if she weren't so sweet.... why is it the biggest eaters are always the freeloaders?

24 weeks is quite normal. Most of my breeder stock don't lay until they are 24 weeks or older. My most recent wellie layer started at 25 weeks.

I have two Cochins that are 28 weeks and not laying, but I don't think that's unusual for them. Frustrating, but not unusual!
