Socializing Baby Chicks

the more time spent with them the more they get used to you and just like any animal..as age comes with constent attention they will get used to you....all i have to do is turn the outside door knob and all forty chickens come running up to the house....its quite funny to watch them run....they will soon be taking bread right out of your hand and hanging out with you...some breeds are just alittle bit more difficult....hope you enjoy your birds.

I agree with Mountain Peeps,
Carefully scoop them up and cuddle them. I bring them up to my face,(which probably terrifies them lol) and kiss them!
Mountain Peeps,
I love your comments at the bottom of your page and I agree.

Try just putting your hand in the brooder palm up and don't move it. They'll get used to it after a few minutes and if you do that for a little bit each day, they'll hopefully start walking on your hands and you can slowly lift them up. If they jump off when you start to lift your hand, just put it back in the brooder and start again. That's what I did with mine and they're very friendly now!
