hello everyone ive got a situation that im not quite sure how t work with . a few months ago i got a crested society finch female to my knowledge in the store she was housed with a spice finch and a canary needless to say the two finches were huddled together on the opposite side of the cage and on occasion the canary would come over and try to pull a beak full of society feathers but the spice finch would peck at its face when it did i didnt think to much of it so i got her and put her in the cage at home she ate drank and seemed really depressed and i went back to the petstore and saw the spice finch labled as a " brown society finch" so got it for the price of a society finch he also seemed depressed but the moment she heard him chirping in the box i brought him home in she perked up and chirped back over and over i put him in the cage and she flew straight to him and started preening him and everything later that night they slept next to eachother . a couple weeks later i wanted to attempt to breed the society finch so i bought a male but i realized when i saw the spice finch singing he was a he but still i thought nothing of it until i put the male society finch in with them and he saw the female and started singing and hoping .... the spice finch didnt like that much he quickly put a stop to it and put himslf between the two and glared at him and its been an ongoing thng he wont let him sleep next to her or be near her for that matter and it didnt really hit me until yesterday when i was doing cage maintanence and the spice finch accidentally got out and started flying around my room but the moment the female society finch started chirping he flew right back to the cage it hit me then that they were a real bonded pair my question is what should i do now? should i get another female society or get move spice finch to a different cage seeing how i cant get another spice finch for him
