Soft Egg Issue

I have had this problem in recent weeks with low egg yield (only 4 hens and I don't depend on them) but I am a little concerned. I am changing their feed to Layena as it seemed alright when I last used it. I think Fred has the answer--vitamin D. I think I will add some to the feed. Oyster shell is ignored and I give them all their shells back to eat.
I remain perplexed and hope you get more responses.

Attilla ...the Layena was a probable suspect ..... others on here have had some of their hens lay soft once they are a year old on Layena ... to much produce could also have contributed ...

FYI, it has been a few weeks and have not had a soft egg since switching food!! I still give them lots of produce and this is not affecting the egg production. One of the girls flew over the fence and got "mauled" by an Irish Setter. She didn't lay for 2 or 3 days while she healed and then picked right back up with her production. This food from the local grain mill has a different look and a different smell and they seem to really like it. Plus, it is WAY cheaper than Layena from TSC. YAY!!
