Soft egg shell?

I’m fairly new to chicken but my hen has been consistent with nice eggs since I got her. Today I found this oh my it doesn’t look good? I put a saddle on her this week can stress cause this?

I think soft shells are caused by calcium deficiency. You should look into getting some oyster shells for your hen.
I also dry out and crush up my eggshells after I use them and put the powder in my bird's water.

Yes, I've had those before. Just give her extra calcium and you should stop seeing those.

I also have a rooster, they both eat layer feed but I’m worried my Roo would eat the extra calcium and it be to much? Can this happen

I'm unsure, I only got my rooster a couple months ago, when my hens weren't having this problem.

Yes, is could. So it may be a one time thing.

He's already getting 'too much' calcium in the layer feed.
It can cause problems long term.

An all flock feed will be better in the long run for him.

Oyster shells are best given in a separate feeder, not mixed into feed or water.
