SOFT EGGS AGAIN

The (RSL) hen that previously kept laying a soft shelled and normal egg a day has been laying a double yolker everyday for the past two weeks. Then I saw her in the corner of the run and she was pushing like she was gonna lay, then an egg with a soft shell plopped out followed by an egg with pretty much no shell or membrane. She laid a normal egg this morning. She is fully vaxxed (to Lion Quality) and from a pullet rearing farm called Hinchcliffe’s. Is there something wrong? They have layer feed and oyster shell. They are kept in the run until evening and can eat nothing but pellets and OS until then.

Also wondering if she has been doing this for some time and the girls just eat the eggs.

Lets see if I get this right; she laid two shell-less eggs after each other, after having laid a normal egg earlier on the day. And she's been laying double yolk eggs for a while.

I'm thinking there's something wrong with her internal reproduction equipment. The egg cycle is supposed to take 24+ hours, but she's churning out yolks, making multiple half-finished eggs several times a day. Could be hormones gone haywire, maybe a tumor, I dunno.

That’s correct. She was vaccinated against diseases that affect egg production and all the bits that make an egg. Which is why I think there must be something else wrong.

What diseases exactly?

They sent me a list of vaccinations before I bought them but I lost it so will email them in the morning for it. Ones I can remember are Egg Drop Syndrome, Infectious Bronchitis, Salmonella, Mycoplasma Gallespticum, Mareks, Peritonitis.
