Soft eggs than none for 2 days

Ok my buffs two of them layer soft shell eggs. Then nothing for two days now. Grrrrrrrrr. I want them to lay. They are squatting just not producing.... My wife says they are free loading. Lol

I'm not an expert, but from what I have read they might need more calcium.

Maybe need calcium - feed them oyster sherll or egg shell in a free choice bowl
Maybe starting a molt?

They are finished molting. They are on layer feed and I add oyster shell to their feed. They are all healthy, just lazy.

My leghorns have shells that will dent a skillet lol so the other chickens they live with are doing great!

I wouldn't worry about it much. It just means that they are close. Both of my egg layers started out laying their first egg which was more like a bag than an egg. Then nothing for a few days. Then a few broken eggs inconsistently... Then an egg a day pretty consistently.
