About a month ago I noticed one of my RIR was walking like a penguin. I just thought she was fat, she was eating well & social with the other girls. This week I noticed that she looked raw between her vent & legs & thought she might be loosing feathers. I went on google & read that sometimes this was normal so did not panic. Today I noticed she was strawberry red now so this evening after they went to bed I brought her inside. The redness she has feels like a sand ball & she is having contractions as if wanting to push an egg out. Her vent is opening & closing. I put her in a warm bath which she loved for about an hour & now she is resting. I read that I should put lubricant on her vent which I did.
I think she is egg bound with a soft shell egg & I have no clue how else I can help her. I am going to post a picture of her that I had my husband take while I held her. The goo that you see is the lubricant, I only had Vaseline to use. I would greatly appreciate any & all advice. Thank you so very much.
