Soft shell egg

Well leave it to Ellie Mae to lay me two soft shelled eggs in one day, and what’s crazy is her eggs were supposed to be olive green not brown! She is a Sapphire Olive Egger

Occasionally blue/olive Eggers like her will end up laying brown eggs instead.

So disappointed cause the reason I decided to increase my flock of three to three more was for different colored egg layers..BUT I love Ellie Mae her personality outshines her egg color!!

One of our Black Sex Links laid an egg that was so soft it looked like a deflated balloon and it had no yolk. She’s young (4 mo) and laid her first egg about three wks ago. All of her eggs have been about the size of guinea eggs. I didn’t take a pic but it was really messed up! They have free choice oyster shell but mostly ignore it. I hope this one is a one-off but should I add Vitamin D3?

Weird things occur, but if it keeps happening definitely do calcium citrate + D3 for her.
